Gemini Alliance, a joint venture of Bacardi and Brown-Forman, has an exciting career opportunity for a Category Development Manager in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area. This position will support the Gemini Alliance Category Development responsibilities for Target through the analysis of scan data, consumer insights, and industry trends to help uncover opportunities to help drive sales growth by helping Target to maximize their resources and uncovering opportunities within the spirits and sparkling wine categories. This position will be located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
CATEGORY DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (TARGET ACCOUNT) – MINNEAPOLIS, MN
RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Act as category expert by objectively driving Category Development principles and solutions through the use of Info Retriever (Target POS), Nielsen, Spectra data, quantitative custom research studies and internal depletion for Target and all store formats.
*Uncover opportunities to assist Target in driving sales initiatives and growth potential through assessment of Info Retriever data, syndicated data, market visits, and investigation of consumer trends.
*Prepare analytical analyses and develop shelf schematics to drive Target market share and sales.
*Prepare and analyze opportunity gaps, evaluate category promotional activity to optimize lifts, and identify the potential to maximize distribution and assortment.
*Prepare and deliver Category Overviews to the Target category team through the implementation of Category Development principles, with core focus on delivering trend observations, drivers, and strategic recommendations against the 4 P’s.
*Strengthen account relations through the objective presentation and participation in key Target meetings, delivering value-added insights and recommendations to grow category and brand sales.
*Deliver ongoing market analysis and assessment of competitors and market intelligence with a focus on the future and value creation.
*Take part in the integration and planning between Bacardi & Brown-Forman HQ and field as well as distributor to develop analysis and fact based tool kits to move business forward via category development.
*Analyze impact of programs in key selling channels and evaluate them for effectiveness to build on successful programs.
REQUIREMENTS:
*Expertise with analytical software including Info Retriever, Nielsen or IRI; Spectra and Prospace/ Apollo desired
*Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on projects with cross-functional teams
*3-5 years analytical or Category Development working as a Category Captain or Validator within the CPG industry, beverage alcohol experience preferred
*Sales presentation building and delivery experience
*Strong Excel, Power Point, Word skills, Access skills a plus
*Ability to think strategically and work in a team environment
*Strong communication and time management skills
*Ability to travel 20 – 25% of the time
*4 year college degree
