JOB TITLE:  Region Sales Manager - Northern California

 

LOCATION:  Successful Candidates MUST reside in the greater San Francisco Bay Area or Sacramento area 

 

POSITION SCOPE:

 

The Region Sales Manager (RSM) is the leader of the Sales effort in the assigned geography.  They are responsible for the creation and execution of a go to market tactics that includes both DSD and Direct Routes to Market that meets or exceeds annual objectives.

 

The Region Sales Manager reports to the Division Sales Director (DSD).

 

The Region Sales Manager may have additional Area Sales Managers reporting to him/her.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The development, management and execution of annual sales plan and trade spending budget in conjunction with DSD and Senior Management.

 

Recruit, coach and develop an effective Area Sales Manager team to deeply penetrate all channels in the market territory.

 

Work with Area Sales Managers (ASM) to create bottom up plans with quarterly and annual objectives

 

Maintains high visibility in the marketplace and develops strong relationships with distributors and key retail customers.

 

Collaborate with National Account Managers to maximize execution at key accounts in the region

 

Interaction with Broker Sales Reps in appropriate channels to maximize sales performance.

 

Collaborate with Essentia Field Marketing staff to create effective local market sales and awareness driving tactics

 

This includes.  

 

·         Execute short and long-term sales objectives and strategies

 

·         In conjunction with distributor personnel, call on Key Retail Accounts to ensure volume, distribution, programming, and staff brand awareness is maximized.

 

·         Develop and maintain sales contact with key retail customers and new prospects.

 

·         Develop and maintain the Essentia Scorecard Process with all assigned Distributors.

 

·         Distributor Management - Schedule and conduct distributor team meetings to inform and educate sales representatives of brand standards to optimize sales performance.

 

·         Maintain & Submit monthly sales & inventory and quarterly distribution reports

 

·         Report & effectively manage all sales expenses and budgets for market/region.

 

Job Requirements

The Region Sales Manager (RSM) is the leader of the Sales effort in the assigned geography.  They are responsible for the creation and execution of a go to market tactics that includes both DSD and Direct Routes to Market that meets or exceeds annual objectives.  


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

·         At least 8 years business/sales experience or equivalent education.

 

·         College degree preferred.

 

·         Experience managing DSD Distributors a must.

 

·         Key Account sales experience preferred.

 

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft office products.

 

·         Strong communication skills.

 

·         Successful and refined sales skills

 

·         Strong analytical skills.

 

·         Good command of business mathematics.

 

·         Good written and verbal communications.

 

·         Ability to Analyze and think strategically.

 

·         Comfortable working in a collaborative, team environment with minimal oversight

 

·         Ability to travel overnight & work alternative days/hours as needed & with proper notification.
